Yoga on the green or how yoga can be an empowering act!

Recently I had a yoga class outside.

The weather was perfect for it and I wanted a bit of a change from our usual studio space.


But as much as I loved the idea I dreaded being outside.

I am now confident in my own skin but some of my all programming came back to haunt me a little -

“Everyone would look at me”, “people will comment” and many other unsupportive thoughts.




But then I remembered the me I was a few years back, how I craved representation and I thought how amazing it would have been for me to see a plus size lady like myself, unapologetically practising yoga outside.




And that helped me realign and have my self care journey and everything I have learnt since to click back in.

So I took my mat and did it for both my current and old self.

And I am glad I did.


I was certain I would be overly conscious the entire time, but surprisingly, I was not.

I did notice some people walking by, but soon enough it all faded to the background. And it was only myself, the movements and the blue sky I was able to see every time I looked up.

I finished the flow feeling great and empowered.


Who knew that a regular yoga class on the green would help me take back space?
